Adventures in Italy

Adventures in Italy

Enjoy the pleasures of small town Italian life, while developing your creative skills. Adventures in Italy marries the quintessential Italian hilltop experience with the pursuit of creative passion, resulting in an unforgettable week.

Our trips reward curious, adventuresome, lifelong learners. Italy's culture and artful living are explored through your creative expression. Workshops provide a lens through which to see and experience Italy, with cultural experiences complementing the course. Our teachers are artists, but they are teachers first, knowing how to share their talent. Beginner and expert alike are welcome.

Trips are designed to live as much like locals as possible, savoring and enjoying life in Italy. You will get to know Orvieto, its people, and its environs. Meals are not prearranged, providing choice about where and what to eat, exploring the foods and wines that are of interest to you.

Accommodations for the week are in a renovated, comfortable, hundreds years old former palace, now a bed and breakfast, run by three charming, welcoming nuns. Each room has its own, full bath. It is truly a home, providing the very real opportunity to enjoy Italian life.

Our host city, Orvieto, is Medieval built atop an Etruscan network of caves. The population on “the rock” is about 6500 - a cozy, intimate small town. It has one of the best Gothic cathedrals in Italy. Orvieto is flat, with meandering streets of cobblestone sitting atop a volcanic plug of rock 700 feet above the valley floor – a spectacular setting.
