Susan Sarback, master painter of light and color, has distilled the essence of Monet's luminous approach to painting into a way of seeing and a four-stage painting process. Author of Capturing Radiant Color in Oils and named one of the Master Painters of the world by International Artist magazine, she teaches painting workshops throughout the U.S. She established The School of Light & Color in 1986, where she teaches artists how to capture radiant color that transforms their art.
Three- to five-day Color Intensive and Plein-Air Landscape workshops are taught by Susan Sarback. The daily 9am-4pm sessions include a lunch break.
• Color Intensive workshops focus on specific seeing & painting techniques. Through painting a variety of still life subjects, the student learns the foundation needed to paint any subject - landscape, portrait, etc. A slide presentation and painting demonstration are included in each workshop.
• Plein-Air Landscape outdoor painting workshops focus on capturing the different qualities of light in various weather conditions. Composition, color, subject selection, and rapid skills to capture the outdoor atmosphere are presented. Students should have a basic knowledge of drawing and values or have taken a Color Intensive workshop.
Workshops are held throughout the U.S. and at The School of Light & Color in the picturesque village of Fair Oaks, California, about twenty miles east of Sacramento. The nearby American River, local parks, and charming street scenes provide ample painting subjects.
Workshops focus on seeing & painting light & color, expanding color perception. Features painting in oils or soft pastels.
