Snow Farm is a hands-on, intensive arts school that offers spring, summer and fall programs for both the newcomer and veteran in the world of art. Our programs allow students the opportunity to be part of a small community of people joined by their common interest in creativity and in each other. From April through October we offer a wide range of weekend and five-day intensives in glass, welded sculpture, ceramics/pottery, metalsmithing, fiber arts, woodworking, furniture making, jewelry, photography, painting, printing, and much more.
Situated on 50 acres in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains, we are in the heart of the "Pioneer Valley" which is home to a large number of the country's most prominent master craftspeople and very close to the five-college community of Northampton and Amherst. Our extensive and professionally-equipped studios and living space are a blend of 1700's farm and contemporary, architect-designed structures that provide an inspirational setting in which to live and work.
This is an intimate program with an excellent faculty-student ratio, enabling each person to work at their own pace and level. A diversity of backgrounds and interests and a wide geographical area is represented both in staff and students. The pervasive spirit of learning from and helping each other makes Snow Farm not just an intense creative experience, but a significant personal experience, nurtured by close friendships and the discovery of new ways of perceiving the world and your own capabilities.
